Sheryl

Lead Vocals

Sheryl has been singing since she was a wee lass, beginning with her own record player at 6, to singing lead in the second grade Christmas pageant and serenading the lunch rooms ladies with “Harper Valley PTA”.  She slayed in the high school choir, where she was first soprano.  She has spent countless hours alone in her bedroom perfecting the intonations and vocal leanings of everyone from The Beatles to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elton John, Bad Company, The Eagles.  And then she found the ladies:  Heart, Linda Ronstadt, and Bonnie Raitt and never looked back.  So now straight from a vocal class at Grossmont College, the San Diego County Fair, and decades at The Faculty Follies, she is ready to perform for you with the talented Rolando Rose band!

Rick

Guitar and Vocals

Playing music has been in his blood since he got his first guitar at age 12-- Playin' Fat Fingers on an Old Dreadnaught! Now they're Fenders and Taylors but the spirit remains the same.

Influenced by The Stones, The Beatles and The Who, allured by Otis Redding and Smokey Robinson, not to mention the blue-eyed soul of  Hall and Oates, Bill Champlin, and Rod Stewart, his biggest influence is Americana. In the early days it was folk music and Bob Dylan, then came The Band and Little Feat, and more recently Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt and Dave Alvin. Dang! That's a lot of great music. Let's play!

Rock on Rolando Rose!

Curtis

Drums and Vocals

Curt has been playing the drums since he was seven. But it wasn’t until his late forties that he hooked up with a real band and did real gigs. He loves to play and he loves to sing. Most of all he loves to make the band groan with his horrible puns and dad jokes!

Vicki

Keyboards and Vocals

Vicki is a native San Diegan that grew up in East County and now lives in the Rolando neighborhood, part of the namesake of her band. She began her love of music with piano lessons at the El Cajon Boys and Girls Club when she was ten years old and went on to take several more years of music after that. She is most grateful to her parents for giving her this opportunity at an early age.

A high school teacher by profession, she has played in a band on the side for the last fifteen years. She jokes, “I never thought I would use those arpeggiating scales I slogged through as a kid, but it’s probably what I use most when playing music with other people!”

Chris

Bass and Vocals

Chris, a multi-instrumentalist whose passion is composing music, has been playing and performing in the San Diego area for most of his life. In his youth he studied percussion and was immersed in classical music.  He is also an alumnus of a number of local San Diego area bands, performing on guitar, bass, drums and keyboards.
